Using Apple Pay is simple, and it works with the devices you use every day. Your card information is secure because it isn’t stored on your device or shared when you pay. So you can pay in an easy, secure, and private way.

And you can say goodbye to the contactless limit with Apple Pay. You can purchase over the contactless limit in many stores, so you can use Apple Pay for purchases, big or small.

We won't charge you for using Apple Pay, but charges from your mobile network provider may apply depending on your data plan.

How to add a card

On Apple Watch Series 3 and later, and iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus and later, you can add up to 12 cards on a device. On earlier models, you can add up to 8 cards on a device. The same card can be added on up to 9 devices. The first card added to Apple Pay will be the default card. Payments will be from this card unless another card is selected. You can change your default card at any time by going into ‘Settings’, and then ‘Wallet & Apple Pay’.

HSBC Corporate Cards Mobile App

Add your eligible HSBC Corporate Card to Apple Pay directly from your HSBC Corporate Cards Mobile App.

Simply log on to the latest version of your HSBC Corporate Cards Mobile app and select your HSBC Card.
Go to ‘Manage cards’ and select ‘Add to Apple Wallet’.
Follow the onscreen instructions to complete adding your card to Apple Wallet.

iPhone

Open the Wallet app.
Tap the Add button.
Tap Debit or Credit Card to add a new card.
Tap Continue.
To add your HSBC Corporate Card:
- Tap or hold your card close to your iPhone to add it.
- To add your card manually, tap Enter Card Details Manually and follow the onscreen instructions.
In some cases, you’ll have to verify your card with a one-time passcode which will be sent to you by text message.

Apple Watch

If you have a paired Apple Watch, you have the option to add the card to it.

On your paired iPhone, open the Apple Watch app.
In the My Watch tab, tap Wallet & Apple Pay.
Tap Add Card.
Tap Debit or Credit Card to add a new card.
Tap Continue.

Follow the steps on the screen in the Wallet app on your Apple Watch to manually add your HSBC Corporate Card to your watch.

iPad and Mac with Touch ID

On your device, open Wallet & Apple Pay settings.
- On your Mac model with Touch ID, go to System Settings (or System Preferences) > Wallet & Apple Pay.
- On your iPad, go to Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay.
Select Add Card.
Follow the steps on the screen to add your HSBC Corporate Card.
In some cases, you’ll have to verify your card with a one-time passcode which will be sent to you by text message.

How to pay

In stores

You can use Apple Pay anywhere that displays the Apple Pay or contactless logos.

Pay with iPhone

If your iPhone has Face ID, double-click the side button.
If your iPhone has Touch ID, double-click the home button.
Hold your iPhone near the contactless reader until a ‘Done’ and a tick appear on the display.

Pay with Apple Watch

Double-click the side button.
Hold the display of your Apple watch near the contactless reader until you feel a gentle tap and hear a beep.

Pay on websites and in apps

You can use Apple Pay to pay on websites and in apps when you see Apple Pay as a payment option.

Tap the Apple Pay button or choose Apple Pay as your payment method.
Follow the steps on screen to confirm the payment on your Apple device.
When your payment is successful, you’ll see ‘Done’ and a tick on the screen.

Your default card

The first card you add to your Apple Wallet is assigned as your default card. Payments are automatically charged to the default card. If you add more cards and want to change your default card, follow these steps.

iPhone

Open your Wallet app.
Touch and hold the card that you want to set as your default card, then drag it to the front of your cards.

Apple Watch

Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
In the My Watch tab, tap Wallet & Apple Pay.
Under Transaction Defaults > tap Default Card > tab a card to set it as your default card.

iPad and Mac with Touch ID

On your iPad go to Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay> under Transaction Defaults > tap Default Card > tab a card to set it as your default card.
On your Mac with Touch ID, go to System Settings (System Preferences) > Wallet & Apple Pay. Choose a card from the Default Card menu.

Are digital wallets safe?

Using Biometric log on, such as your fingerprint or your face, are a secure way to log on to your mobile device.

Digital wallets use authentication and data encryption to protect your personal information, unlike a traditional wallet where someone can access your cards if they take it.

However, if you use a digital wallet, you should still take extra safety measures to keep your information safe.

These can include:

Using a PIN or fingerprint identification protection on your smartphone.
Being vigilant about keeping track of card transactions made from your digital wallet.

What should I do if I lose my device or HSBC card?

If your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or Mac is lost or stolen, you can go to iCloud.com/find or use the ‘Find My’ app to mark your device as lost.

To suspend or remove your card from Apple Pay, or if you lose your card, please contact us immediately on 03456 015 934 (or +44 1226 261 053 if calling from outside of the UK). Alternatively, for local rate numbers please call the number found at the back of your card.

What happens when I replace or update my device?

How do I remove my HSBC Corporate Card from Apple Pay?

You can remove a card from Apple Pay at any time.

To remove your card on iPhone

Go to 'Settings'

Open 'Wallet & Apple Pay'.

Tap the card that you want to remove, then tap 'Remove Card'.

To remove your card on Apple Watch

On your Apple Watch, tap the Wallet app.

Tap the card that you want to remove.
Scroll down and tap 'Remove’

From your iPhone

Open the Watch app.
Go to the ‘My Watch’ tab.
Tap 'Wallet & Apple Pay'.
Tap the card that you want to remove, then tap 'Remove Card'.

What happens when my card expires?

If your card is nearing expiry, a replacement card is automatically issued and the new card details are automatically updated in Apple Pay. If the expiry month has passed and you've not received a new card, please call us on the telephone numbers below:

Is there anything I need to do with my new HSBC Corporate Card after my old one has been lost, stolen, or replaced?

If your card has been lost, stolen, renewed or replaced you will have to make a chip & PIN transaction in the prescribed period below to continue using the digital wallet. If you have not done so and the period has elapsed, your digital wallet may be deactivated.

Please refer to your Conditions of Use under ‘Important Information’ for further guidance.

Lost or stolen card – a chip & PIN transaction within 30-days from the date your card is reported as lost or stolen.

Renewed card - Before the expiry date shown on your old card.

Replaced card - when a card is replaced for reasons outside of renewal and lost/ stolen, for example a damaged card, a chip & PIN transaction within 30-days from the date you request to have your card replaced.

Is Apple Pay secure?

Apple Pay is a secure way to make payments. Your card number is not stored on your device, and it is never shared by Apple Pay or sent with your payment. Instead, Apple Pay gives you a unique Device Account Number, that’s encrypted and stored in a secure part of your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.

When you use Apple Pay, your Device Account Number and a specific dynamic security code, are used to process your payment.

To protect your card:

You must not choose a device passcode that can be easily guessed by anyone else or tell anyone else what your device passcode is; and you must ensure that you do not store anyone else's fingerprint, Face ID within your Apple Pay device.

One-time passcode:

For security purposes, we may ask you to enter a one-time passcode to confirm your identity. This code is a unique series of numbers and will be sent via text. Once received, please enter the one-time passcode into the appropriate field.
