Ian Robinson has been with HSBC UK since 2010 and has previously held roles covering Retail Banking, Mid-Market Enterprises and Large Corporate banking across the North of England, before joining HSBC’s Public Sector & Education team in 2017.
Ian is responsible for coordinating and leading the Public Sector & Education strategy for customer-facing teams across the bank’s Commercial Banking business. This includes leading a number of high-profile partnerships, speaking engagements and developing the bank’s thought leadership content, in a dynamic and ever-changing sector.
Ian’s aim is to develop higher quality engagement with Local Authorities, Universities, Schools and Alternative Providers, whilst assisting with student and employee wellbeing, IT infrastructure, liquidity & deposits and various financing requirements – be it sustainable green finance and bank loans through to accessing the debt capital markets.
Ian works with various teams across HSBC’s global footprint to help develop global connections for institutions, academics and students to help them maximise their opportunities within the HSBC network.
Ian also hosts ‘Business in Action’ development sessions with students, to develop their understanding of the workplace and the challenges they will help tackle post-graduation.
