Google Pay

A digital wallet, also known as an e-wallet, is an electronic device that stores all your payment details in one location. It can make it simpler for you to make cashless purchases online and in shops.

If you’re an HSBC corporate cardholder, you can now add your HSBC Corporate Card to Google Pay.

Setting up Google Pay is straightforward. Please follow the steps under ‘How to add a card’. Enter your corporate card information and the system will save it securely in the wallet.

This will allow you to make contactless payments in shops.

A digital wallet can make payments quicker. This offers:

• A single location for all your payment information, so you no longer need to remember several passwords and PINs
• Convenience – you can leave your actual wallet at home if you don't want to carry it around
• The ability to make payments online without having to fill in your payment details every time you want to make a purchase

Using Biometric log on, such as your fingerprint or your face, are a secure way to log on to your mobile device.

Digital wallets use authentication and data encryption to protect your personal information, unlike a traditional wallet where someone can access your cards if they take it.

However, if you use a digital wallet, you should still take extra safety measures to keep your information safe.

These can include:

• Using a PIN or fingerprint identification protection on your smartphone
• Being vigilant about keeping track of card transactions made from your digital wallet.

HSBC Corporate Cards eligible for Google Pay, subject to status, are the following:

• Corporate Card
• Purchasing Card
• Fuel EV Card

If your device is lost or stolen, you can use the Google ‘Find My Device’ service to find, lock, or erase your device remotely.

To suspend or remove your HSBC Corporate card from Google Pay, please call us on UK number 03456 015 934 (or +44 1226 261 053 if calling from outside of the UK). Alternatively, for local rate numbers please call the number found at the back of your card.

If you replace or update your device, you will need to add your card(s) to Google Pay again.

Please ensure that you remove your HSBC Corporate Card from any device before selling, exchanging, or disposing of them. You should also remove your card if you temporarily pass your device to someone else; for example, if you pass it to be repaired.

If your card is nearing expiry , a replacement card is automatically issued and the new card details are automatically updated in Google Pay. If the expiry month has passed and you've not received a new card, please call us on UK number 03456 015 934 (or +44 1226 261 053 if calling from outside of the UK). Alternatively, for local rate numbers please call the number found at the back of your card.

You can remove a card from Google Pay at any time. Select the card within the Google Pay app and tap 'Remove card'. You can also go to Find My Device to remotely erase all the data in the device, including your card(s).

If your card has been lost, stolen, renewed or replaced you will have to make a chip & PIN transaction in the prescribed period below to continue using the digital wallet. If you have not done so and the period has elapsed, your digital wallet may be deactivated.

Lost or stolen card – a chip & PIN transaction within 30-days from the date your card is reported as lost or stolen.

Renewed card – when a card is replaced due to it nearing its expiry date, a chip & PIN transaction with your new card before the expiry date shown on your old card.

Replaced card - when a card is replaced for reasons outside of renewal and lost/ stolen, for example a damaged card, a chip & PIN transaction within 30-days from the date you request to have your card replaced.

Yes. When you pay using Google Pay, your actual corporate card number is not shared with your payment. Instead, a tokenised card number is used to represent your card payment information, so your card details stay safe, and your information stays secure.

To protect your card:

You must not choose a Google Pay PIN that can be easily guessed by anyone else or tell anyone else what your device passcode is; and you must ensure that you do not store anyone else's fingerprint within your Google device.

One-time passcode:

For security purposes, we may ask you to enter a one-time passcode to confirm your identity. This code is a unique series of numbers and will be sent via text. Once received, please enter the one-time passcode into the appropriate field.
