Processing information – Neurodiversity

At HSBC we understand that people learn, think and understand in different ways. Our brains are naturally diverse and function in disparate ways, and to reflect this HSBC provides a variety of services and support.

Autism, processing information or learning disabilities

For customers who have Autism, a learning disability or difficulties in processing information if you choose to inform us our staff can provide you with additional support, whether that be:

  • Providing longer appointments to allow more time for discussions.
  • Arranging appointment times that are more suitable to you and your schedule.
  • Choosing a quieter, more private room or location to meet with less distractions, noise and activity.
  • Facilitating a family member or friend to accompany you to appointments.
  • Provision of your communication in large print or audio, if that better suits your needs.

Dementia

We're proud to have worked in partnership with Alzheimer's Society and Alzheimer Scotland. Together we've built stronger, dementia-friendly communities and are making HSBC a dementia-friendly business.

We want our customers to be able to bank in the way that makes them most comfortable. That's why many of our staff are Dementia Friends, meaning they're trained to support those impacted by dementia.

They are easy to use, you just need your bank card, PIN and standard headphones (3.5mm jack) such as the kind you get with a phone or MP3 player. Please note: Not all ATMs are the same.
