    Information we'll ask for when you apply

    We'll ask you to provide some business details, including:

    • full business address, including postcode
    • contact details (landline number, mobile number, email address)
    • Companies House registration number (for limited companies and partnerships)
    • your estimated turnover

    We'll also need some personal details from you, plus any partners or directors:

    • full name and date of birth
    • telephone number and email address
    • current personal address (and previous address if you've been there under 3 years)
    • account number (if you already bank with us)
    • details of your debit/credit cards

    What we'll need from you to complete your application

    After you submit your application, we'll ask to see one item from each of the following two lists (plus the same for any other beneficial owners and/or principal controllers).

    Your identity:

    • your current passport
    • your current UK photocard driving licence
    • your current UK driving licence (old paper style)
    • your current national Identity Card

    Your address:

    • a current bank or building society statement or passbook
    • a utility bill (e.g. electricity, gas or water, but not mobile phone) showing proof of payment
    • a local authority or council tax bill valid for current year

  • Free banking for 18 months when you start your business with HSBC. Free Banking means that we won't charge an account maintenance fee or for payments into your account covered by our standard account charges.
  • After your free business banking period, we’ll give you a fixed price of £5.50 a month for 12 months. You’ll be able to deposit up to £3,000 cash per month during this time. If you exceed this limit, the fee for further cash transactions is 50p per £100 cash deposited. During your fixed price period, you won’t pay any other standard account charges.
  • When your fixed price period ends you’ll move onto the tariff that you choose when you open your account and you’ll pay an account maintenance fee of £5.50 per month plus charges depending on the services you use.

Free business banking period
When you start your business with HSBC, you'll receive 18 months' free3 business banking.

What happens at the end of free banking?
We’ll give you a fixed price of £5.50 a month for 12 months. You’ll be able to deposit up to £3,000 cash per month during this time. If you exceed this limit, the fee for further cash transactions is 50p per £100 cash deposited. During your fixed price period, all other standard account charges will be free.

What happens after the fixed price period?
You pay an account maintenance fee of £5.50 per month, plus charges depending on the tariff you choose and the services you use. If your turnover is up to £500k and your banking needs have changed, you can switch tariffs - just call to let us know.
