If you've got an iPhone mobile device with Smart security with fingerprint log-in enabled, you can log on to the HSBC Business Banking app using your fingerprint – follow the steps below.

Step 1: Setting up your Access Code

You'll need to set up an Access Code to log on to the HSBC Business Banking app without having to use your physical security device. To set up your Access Code, follow instructions below.

1. (i) Log on to Business Internet Banking using your desktop

2. Once logged in, on the left-hand side of your Business Internet Banking home screen click on:
(i) 'Set up Access Code' if you don't already have an Access Code; or
(ii) 'Edit my details' if you already have an Access Code but would like to create a new Access Code.

3. Enter your desired Access Code as instructed

4. Scroll down the page and authenticate setting this up with your Security Device and follow the instruction provided on the page

5. You'll now get a confirmation that your Access Code has been created.
(i) You'll see the following page if you've set up an Access Code for the first time

(ii) Or this page if you've changed your existing Access Code.

6. Now you're ready to use your Access Code to log on to your HSBC Business Banking app.

 

Step 2: Log on to Business Banking Mobile App using your Access Code

1. Launch HSBC Business Banking app
2. Enter your username and click on ‘Continue’
3. Click on ‘Log on without security device >’

4. Enter your password and your Access Code (follow the instructions) and click on ‘Continue’

5. Now you’re logged on to your HSBC Business Banking app

Step 3: Enable Touch ID on your iPhone device

1. Fingerprint - In your iPhone Settings, make sure you've registered your fingerprints. 2. Log on - Now open the HSBC Mobile Banking app and enter your Digital Secure Key password. 3. Enable - Once in the HSBC Mobile Banking app, enable Touch ID from the Settings menu. 4. Verify - Scan your fingerprint for verification.

 

Important security information

When you enable Touch ID fingerprint scanner to log on, any fingerprint stored on your device, now or in the future, can be used to log on to the HSBC Business Banking app. You should only enable Touch ID fingerprint scanner, if you're the only person who has registered fingerprints on your device.

To log on using Smart security with fingerprint log-in, you need to have the HSBC Business Banking app installed on an iPhone 5s mobile device or above, with an operating system 8 or above.

Can I set up Smart security with fingerprint log-in when I register for Business Internet Banking?

Once you have registered for Business Internet Banking you can download and log on to the HSBC Business Banking app using your Business Internet Banking credentials.

First, make sure you have enabled Smart security with fingerprint log-in in your device's Settings and follow the instructions to save your fingerprint to the device.

If you delete and reinstall the HSBC Business Banking app, you will need to re-register your fingerprint again within the app.

How do I register my Business Account to use Smart security with fingerprint log-in?

You can register for Smart security with fingerprint log-in from the slide menu in the HSBC Business Banking app.

If my fingerprint is not recognised, can I still log on to my account?

Yes. You can still log on to the HSBC Business Banking app using your Access Code or physical security device.

Can I use Smart security with fingerprint log-in to log on if I have other people's fingerprints stored on my device?

When you enable Smart security with fingerprint log-in to log on, any fingerprint stored on your device - now or in the future - can be used to log on to the HSBC Business Banking app. You should only enable Smart security with fingerprint log-in if you are the only person who has registered fingerprints on your device. You can add or remove fingerprints in your device settings.

How can I disable Smart security with fingerprint log-in?

There are two ways to disable Smart security with fingerprint log-in.

  • Disable Smart security with fingerprint log-in from the slide menu of the HSBC Business Banking app
  • In your device settings, delete all registered fingerprints or delete the device passcode

Enabling Smart security with fingerprint log-in again in your device settings will also re-enable it for the HSBC Business Banking app.

What if my Smart security with fingerprint log-in enabled phone is lost or stolen?

You can disable Smart security with fingerprint log-in by logging in to your account from an alternative mobile device.

If you have any security concerns, as soon as possible, log on to iCloud (iCloud.com) and remotely wipe your device by activating the ‘Find my iPhone’ app, selecting the lost device and erasing the data on it.

Will my fingerprint be stored in the app or elsewhere within HSBC?

No. Your fingerprints will not be stored in the HSBC Business Banking app or kept within HSBC.
